Disclosures
Consumer credit file rights.
Required disclosures, stated plainly rather than buried. Read this before engaging us for dispute services.
Review needed before launch
TODO This page states rights that exist under federal law, but the exact statutory disclosure text a credit repair organization must provide — and any additional state-specific disclosure, registration or bonding requirement — should be confirmed by a qualified attorney in each state Scope 850 operates in before this site goes live. It has been written to be accurate and useful, not to substitute for that review.
You can do this yourself
You have the right to dispute inaccurate information in your credit report by contacting the credit bureau directly, at no cost to you. Nothing a credit repair organization does on the dispute side is something you are prevented from doing on your own behalf.
Nobody can remove accurate information
Accurate, current and verifiable negative information cannot be removed from your credit report by any person or company. If a late payment, collection or charge-off genuinely happened and is being reported correctly, it remains on your report until it ages off under the reporting time limits. Any company that tells you otherwise is describing something that is not possible.
No advance fees
A credit repair organization may not charge or receive payment before it has fully performed the services it promised. Scope 850 does not take payment up front for dispute services.
Your right to cancel
You may cancel a contract with a credit repair organization, without penalty or obligation, within three business days of signing it. Your written contract will state this right and include a cancellation form.
Your contract will be in writing
Before any work begins you will receive a written contract stating the services to be performed, the total cost, how long the work is expected to take, and any guarantee offered. You will also receive a written statement of your consumer credit file rights before that contract is signed.
No guarantees of outcome
Scope 850 does not guarantee any specific credit score, any specific number of points, any particular removal, or any timeline. Results depend entirely on what is in your credit file and how furnishers respond during investigation.
We are not a law firm
Scope 850 provides credit consulting and education. We do not provide legal advice, do not represent clients in legal proceedings, and are not a substitute for an attorney. If your circumstances call for legal counsel we will tell you.
Free reports
You are entitled to free copies of your credit reports from the nationwide credit bureaus. You do not need to purchase a subscription, a monitoring product, or a service from us in order to see your own credit file.
Reporting a problem
If you believe a credit repair organization has violated your rights, you can report it to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, or your state Attorney General's office.
